Marcos Volvo 3 litre
1970

|
Current owner: Ray Green - me!
1 of two Volvo 3 litre cars in the country and the
main subject of this part of the site! UK registration was EML 128 J when it
was Tangerine - its original colour. Dave Rattee from
the UK found a pic and sent it to me early 2007!!!
Many thanks for that. Any more? When I purchased
it, Richard had painted it yellow. |

Marcos Volvo 3 litre 1971 |
Current owner: Brian.
Formerly owned by Dave Walker. Brian has just been
out on the Pukekohe track, taking part in a classic trial,
May 2005. Almost road ready again after some chassis work. |

Previous owner: Richard Atkinson, now painted daffodil
yellow. Sold July 2003 to Phil, MG Midget racer in our race
series. A clip of this car appeared on the official Marcos
website when the new Marcos was first shown in NZ. Plywood chassis car of course. Richard sold me my
car - also yellow at the time. |

Now in Taupo, but the current owner's husband sadly
passed away October 2009 so the future may be a bit
uncertain. Was originally a V4 but
converted to Ford V6. Previously owned and raced a
couple of times by the last lady owner, including the
Hamilton Street race. |

Owned for many years by Sean Bainbridge with a very
colourful history! Chassis rebuilt locally a couple of
years ago, just after this picture taken. Body stripped and
not too far from the paint shop early 2004. Sean
has been too busy sailing since, so still not on the road as
at January 2007. |

1965 Marcos - engine
type unknown
Featured on the front cover of "Beaded Wheels"
February/March 2003, Pete Johns car had FTD at the Hawkes
Bay Hillclimb. First sighting of this car for many of us
and I keenly await details. Looks like a wooden
chassis car. |

This 1991 car has been imported into NZ from
Japan having only covered 200 miles from new and is or was
for sale in the south island, Rustbatch motors. Needless to
say, this car is like brand new in all respects. |

I was promised a drive in this
very historic car... True to his word, Andy let me
drive it at our first classic race meeting at the brand new
Hampton Downs racetrack, just south of Auckland.
Unfortunately, the oil warning light cam eon after three
laps, so I no choice but to switch off. Wow! |

Another recent import from the UK is the V8 coupe but this
has taken an absolute age to get through NZ's systems.
Resident in Christchurch - pic to follow. |
